Renata May De Villiers
Renata has always had an undying passion and love for animals and dreamt of working with animals and improving the welfare of animals. She started obedience training at the age of 13 with her 5-year-old min pin, where her love for obedience dog training began and grew. She then adopted a German Shepherd puppy who she took to puppy classes run by Karin Pienaar. Renata went to the USA in 2015 for a year and volunteered at an animal welfare organisation, and found the experience invaluable.
She came back to South Africa to start her dog training and animal behaviour studies through COAPE SA and she is currently busy with the CO1 Dogwise Stage 1 course. She re-joined the dog training scene when she got back to SA and started helping with obedience classes once again. She also recently adopted a pit bull puppy, who has joined her in her dog training journey. She has always taken part in volunteer work, as it pushes her forward and reminds her of what she is working towards, namely a better standard of living for all animals.
Renata’s goal is to help others obtain training and certifications in all aspects of animal behaviour, training and care, in order to help people better understand animals and why they do what they do, as well as to build a better relationship and communication with animals.
Renata is the Sales Representative for COAPE SA in Port Elizabeth and the surrounding areas.
